HECS is proud to announce the successful installation of the 650 KLD HECS Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Sewage Treatment Plant at IIT Hyderabad. Featuring advanced Mitsubishi MBR membranes, this state-of-the-art facility sets a new benchmark in wastewater treatment, delivering exceptional efficiency, sustainability, and water reuse capabilities.
Advanced Treatment Process
🔹 Screening & Pre-Treatment: Incoming sewage undergoes an initial screening to remove debris and solids.
🔹 Anoxic Tank for Denitrification: The wastewater is directed to an anoxic tank, where nitrates are effectively removed through a biological process.
🔹 Aeration & MBR Filtration: The Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) system in the aeration tank enables high-efficiency organic matter breakdown, significantly enhancing water quality.
🔹 Automated Control & Monitoring: A centralized control panel ensures seamless operation, allowing for real-time monitoring and efficient system management.
Sustainable Water Reuse
The treated water from the MBR system is utilized for flushing and cooling tower operations, reducing freshwater consumption and promoting sustainable water management on campus. This innovative approach not only minimizes environmental impact but also supports IIT Hyderabad’s commitment to resource conservation.
Setting a New Industry Standard
By integrating cutting-edge technology with a strong focus on environmental stewardship, the 650 KLD HECS MBR Sewage Treatment Plant at IIT Hyderabad serves as a model for institutions and industries looking to implement high-performance wastewater treatment solutions.
